AC&A at the Argentine Congress of Road Administration and Traffic

Our company participated in the XVIII Argentine Congress of Road Administration and Traffic, held at the Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Buenos Aires from September 26 to 28. Eng. Miguel I. Uranga (Project Manager) presented on “The importance of data and its use to optimize resources and have access to funding – Application to the case of Salta”. Participation in this Congress, a forum for the exchange of experiences and debate for those involved in the road and transport sector, represents a recognition of our company’s trajectory and a great contribution in professional terms.

During the presentation made by AC&A, Eng. Miguel I. Uranga underlined the importance of having reliable information and objective data on the condition of a road network (whether provincial or national), since they constitute a fundamental input when planning investments, to use public resources efficiently and facilitate access to financing to execute the works that promote the growth of the economy.

To this end, a series of variables were listed and defined, such as Traffic (subordinated to vehicle volume, average speed and growth rate) and Pavement Condition (linked to surface and structural evaluation). Reference was also made to different technological tools to collect data with precision, such as automatic counters, FWD (Deflections) and RSP (Laser Profiler) equipment, as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to image reading.

Another point addressed during the presentation was the importance of implementing a Strategic Planning System whose purpose is to guarantee adequate decision-making and optimize the distribution of available resources as a technical support instrument; a methodology that, in addition, enables the empowerment and development of a works plan with models that facilitate its formulation, monitoring or follow-up.

During the three days of the Congress, AC&A was represented by its President and Founder, Eng. Roberto Agosta, the Director of Engineering and Work Inspections, Eng. Bruno Agosta, the Director of Studies and Planning, Eng. Maximiliano Roca, and Eng. María Victoria Jaureguilorda.
